Several mechanisms for the regulation of WASp activity have been proposed, however, the role of tyrosine phosphorylation remains controversial, particularly due to inconsistencies between results obtained through biochemical and cell biological approaches. In this mini-review, we are addressing the major aspects of WASp regulation with an emphasis on the role of tyrosine phosphorylation on WASp activities.
