Enzymes-Bovine milk galactosyltransferase and Clos tridium perfringens sialidase was purchased from Sigma (St. Louis, Mo., USA).
Glycolipids-nLc4Cer was prepared from NeuGcƒ¿ 2-3nLc4Cer obtained from bovine erythrocytes by mild acid hydrolysis with 1.0 N formic acid at 100 C for 1 h (18). Lc3Cer was prepared from nLc4Cer by periodate oxidation followed by reduction and mild acid hydrolysis according to the method of Spiro(19).
